warning: graphic photography
Rafah is being bombed— and Biden’s response has been menial at best. He has no intention to get out of Gaza, including the American-made weapons that are blowing up women and children. The Sunday Night Slaughter produced some of the most horrifying photographs I have ever seen, yet it is important to keep all eyes on Rafah. This obliteration of a people is abhorrent, but we should never look away from the atrocities. We can’t be bystanders—you can’t be a bystander.
This is a photo of a child. It’s hard to tell, isn’t it? A child, innocent of any crime—one so young it was unable to discern its own being—gone. Children in Gaza are being beheaded by Israel. Once again, Biden, wouldn’t you agree the line has been crossed—before, but especially now?
Joe Biden doesn’t agree. His actions prove it.
Netanyahu came out and said this was a mistake, which is about as believable as the idea that the rest of the 36,000 (minimum) dead were in the vicinity of Hamas. What he hasn’t called a mistake, however, is the displacement of almost 2 million people. Displacement that has lead to mass starvation, nationwide thirst, and an inability to get these provisions due to blockades by the IDF.
If the IDF can block aid from entering Rafah, is it really a safe zone?
When the IDF can bomb innocent refugees in Rafah, is it really a safe zone?
When you are told to leave Rafah or die, is it really a safe zone?
Of course not: it is an open-air concentration camp.
There is no red line.
