How I Fixed My Sleep (Weekend Whispers)
Get your sleep, otherwise, you'll face the consequences.
Long Hours, Big Dreams
I am working 42 hours a week, going to school fulltime, doing this newsletter, and learning how to grow as a person and as a writer all at the same time.
Man. I’m tired.
(here is me and my cat, Luffy, writing this for you.)
Sleep is something I started taking seriously when I started my first job and had to start waking up at 5:00am on the weekends. For a teenager, that’s worse than death. Especially due to the fact I was staying up until as late as 3:00am the night before.
This wasn’t going to work.
How I Fixed My Sleep
Well, a big shoutout to my knight in shining armor:
Please, click the hyperlink and buy it. Seriously.
(getty images)
This singular thing made me go from sleeping in until 12 to being able to wake up at 4:00am and feel refreshed.
Power Naps!
I thought those productivity youtubers were delusional when they told me a 20-minute nap could solve my problems.
They were so right.
20-minute naps like this are meant to put you in the first phase of sleep, yet not let you drift any further. Ever I since I started timing my naps, life has been smoother.
Go To Bed.
Go to bed! Staying up doing anything past…. 12… (probably more like 10) is terrible for your body and future productivity.
If you had just gone to bed, you would have done better on that exam the next day!
Try putting your phone down and make sure you don’t scroll in comfort; it’ll save you at least an hour a night.
All this to say, staying healthy is key to keeping your life in check. Keep those z’s up, and those snooze buttons far away!
